ALESSANDRO ALGARDI. MY ARTWORKS TO THE COURT OF KING MIDAS: AN EXHIBITION IN COLLABORATION WITH GALLERY GRACIS AND ZAMPETTI IMMOBILI DI PREGIO

The hidden art: Alessandro Algardi and the magic of Zampetti

Zampetti Immobili di Pregio will hold an art exhibition entitled “Alessandro Algardi, My artworks to the court of King Midas”, for the first time. The event originated from Gianluca Prioli’s idea and a collaboration with Gallery Gracis which represents the Milanese artist. It will mark the first concrete step of Zampetti into the art world. The other partners are Arsfolio e Milano Interiors.

The exhibition will fit into a contest that in itself will be integral part of a great artwork: everything will be perceived immediately, down to the smallest details, as artistic touch inside the spaces of Zampetti Immobili di Pregio, from the furniture elements of the three meeting rooms, of the large living room that will welcome the customers, and of the associates and collaborators’ rooms. Here, art is really hidden in the most unexpected and surprising places or in objects that sometimes are taken for granted.

Between Sign and Surface: the Evolution of a Visual Language

Alessandro Algardi is originally from Milan and started his own research in the late sixties and early seventies inside the research about writing and handwriting and drawing inspiration from the Piero Manzoni and Fontana’s poetics of the 60s. Since then he has exhibited in several collective art exhibitions and solo exhibits in Italy and abroad. Among the exhibitions to remember it is possible to mention “ “Libri e parole” (“Books and words”) set up in 1982 at Madrid National Library, “The artist and the Book in the Twentieth Century Italy” at Museum of Modern Art of New York in 1992 and “Là dove si assentano le parole” (“Wherever words are missing”), in the Gallery Gracis of Milan in 2021/2022.

The event will fit into a contest that in itself will be integral part of a great artwork: everything will be perceived immediately, down to the smallest details, as artistic touch inside the spaces of Zampetti Immobili di Pregio, from the furniture elements of the three meeting rooms, of the large living room that will welcome the customers, and of the associates and collaborators’ rooms. The Allegory of Information: The petrified writing of Alessandro Algardi

Ubeir Peeters wrote about him: «The Alessandro Algardi’s art is alive. It is easy to write about it, seeing as how in his calligraphy artworks on canvas, the grace of his illegible paintings is dominated by the hidden expression of his ideas. In his petrified writing it is possible to find an echo and a settling of written cultures over the centuries. An Algardi’s canvas writes about writing by his snowy field of ideas. His art could never have been conceived before the day when he decided to make an allegory of digital information, that is the brand of our computer era»

The Mystery of Sign: Personal and Unique Decoding

He said about himself: «It makes no sense to know what text I wrote, nor to try decoding it. I never reveal the content of my writing that must be mysterious, enigmatic, impenetrable: it will be up to the observer decoding this content, with his own knowledges and sensitivity, revealing the mystery, a mystery that will be always personal, unique, never identical to another one»
