INVERNIZZI’S ART A GALLERY
On Wednesday 4th December 2024 at 6pm, the Invernizzi’s art A gallery will inaugurate a Niele Toroni’s personal exhibition, one of the main protagonists of international artistic stage that, since 1967, was able to stand out thanks to his intervention personal methodology which provides for repetition of n. 50 brush imprints with 30 cm intermissions from each other. Toroni has always understood painting as a chance to interact with space, without taking it up or imposing himself on it, but tracing and showing possible trajectories through brush imprints progression, always different but cadenced with regular and ordered intermissions. The exhibition recalls the entire Niele Toroni’s artistic career, through 25 artworks made in different formats and supports as canvas,
paper, newspaper, waxed canvas, wood, from the free artwork to Paolo Uccello in 1965, to the latest album N. 50 brush imprints with “A nous la liberté” 30 cm intermissions, that sees the presence of brush imprints with different shades follow one another on single papers, occupying the surface in a varied succession, until a maximum of four imprints per paper.
THE WORKS
On the top floor of the gallery, works on paper, poliplat and canvas will be presented, created in a timeframe starting from the early 80’s to 2000s’ ten years, creators of an active relationship with the surrounding environment like the n. 50 brush 4 imprints work with 30 cm intermissions “Saying is not enough, you have to see the painting” of 2011, where brush imprints, repeated on cardboard sheets of paper arranged on the wall, redefine coordinates through their rhythmic progression. Next to it there are two works of 2016 N. 50 brush imprints with 30 cm intermissions “When brush imprints appear on their poster”, where the minimum Toroni’s gesture relates to some interventions reproduction made for Rivoli’s Castle in the 80’s.
THE 1970’S
The second room, on the top floor, will be completely dedicated to the 70’s with a work on canvas of 1978, a work on waxed canvas of 1972 and the work Recuperation of 1971, made up of three wooden shaped panels bearing three brush imprints each one, which encourage the spectator to follow their scan with the look; the same operative process, repeatable in its planning but unique in its concreteness, creates a participating and not theorised work, to be experienced at the moment.
